RICHTX32.OCX Help Page

If you have installed ETextViewer and received an error message about RICHTX32.OCX or one of its dependancies when you try to start it, your computer may be missing this file, or it may not be properly registered. Most versions of Windows already have this file but some lighter versions (e.g. some laptops, netbooks) do not. You may download just the file you are missing and manually register it yourself. Here's how to do it:

1. Download RICHTX32.OCX (click the text on the left and save the file to your computer.)

 

2. Copy the new file to:
    
   
   • Windows 95, 98, or Me:
     WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory on your C: drive
   • Windows NT or 2000:
     WINNT\SYSTEM32 directory on your C: drive
   • Windows XP, or Vista:
     WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 directory on your C: drive
      
     
3. Using your mouse, click on the "Start" button and then click on "Run".

 

4. According to your Operating System, type the following command to register this library file:

 

• Windows 95, 98, or Me:
  regsvr32 \windows\system\RICHTX32.OCX
• Windows NT or 2000:
  regsvr32 \WINNT\system32\RICHTX32.OCX
• Windows XP or Vista:
  regsvr32 \windows\system32\RICHTX32.OCX

You should see a message saying "DllRegisterServer ... succeeded" and your ETextViewer should now work as designed.
